Job Details Location: Indianapolis, IN 46237 — Indianapolis nursing jobs, Indiana RN jobs, travel nursing opportunity Unit: 4th Floor, Bone Marrow Transplant (Oncology/Hematology) Job Title: Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse (PCU RN) — Oncology RN / Hematology RN / BMT RN Contract Type: Travel Nurse, On-Site (12-week contract) Start Date: March 9, 2026 End Date: June 1, 2026 Duration: 12 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM), every third weekend, holidays as needed Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed) Estimated Weekly Salary: $1910 – $2010 (competitive weekly pay for travel nursing) Dress Code: Navy scrubs (facility-approved only) Unit Details: 17 beds; patient ratios 1:1, 1:2, 1:3; EMR: Epic (Beacon); equipment: vents, Alaris pumps, Phillips monitors, Stryker beds, Sara Steady, patient lifts Orientation: Mandatory online education 3 unit orientation shifts Job Requirements / Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — state requirements apply; compact license accepted where applicable BLS required; ACLS required or preferred depending on facility; ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certificate preferred Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in ICU, stepdown, or critical care nursing; oncology/hematology or Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) experience preferred Strong clinical skills: blood product administration, electrolyte replacement, neuro assessment, central line care and dressing changes Experience with high-risk/hazardous drug administration (chemotherapy) and safe handling protocols Comfortable with ventilators, infusion pumps, advanced monitoring, and complex equipment in a PCU environment Willingness to float to stepdown, critical care, oncology, and acute care specialty units as needed Proficient documentation skills in Epic/Beacon and strong interdisciplinary communication Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to hematology and bone marrow transplant patients requiring complex therapies and close monitoring Administer blood products and manage electrolyte replacement per protocols; monitor for transfusion reactions and complications Perform thorough neuro and clinical assessments; recognize and escalate changes in patient condition promptly Manage central lines, support long-term IV therapy, and complete dressing changes per policy Safely administer high-risk and hazardous medications, including chemotherapy when credentialed Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, social workers, and case managers to support therapy goals, discharge planning, and patient/family education Document accurately in Epic/Beacon, participate in effective handoffs, and follow unit protocols and safety standards Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment and support continuity of care for long-term patients Apply now to join our specialized PCU team in Indianapolis, IN.
