Job Description & Requirements Specialty: MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 04/06/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel ICU Travel RN – Job Summary Facility Rules Radius Rule: Must live 50 miles away Driver’s License required at submission (used to verify radius) Orientation Requirement Open-book exam during orientation (Friday) Based on skills/resources provided Must score 90% to pass If not passed → contract termination ‍⚕️ Department Details Unit: ICU (Medical ICU) Beds: 16 Patient Ratio: 2:1 Common Patient Types Sepsis Respiratory Failure Stroke Myocardial Infarction (MI) Other Cases Seen DKA STEMI Stroke A-Fib RVR COVID COPD Exacerbation Pulmonary Embolism Light GI (often stabilize then transfer to CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center – Bergan Mercy) Experience Requirements 2 years ICU experience preferred Travel experience preferred Must Have Skills Ventilator management BiPAP IV Drips Critical care monitoring Drips RNs Must Titrate Vasopressors Sedation drips Examples: Levophed (Levo) Neo-Synephrine Cardene Precedex Propofol Required Certifications BLS ACLS NIHSS Preferred: PALS TNCC Unit Support Charge Nurse: Yes (also takes assignment) Nurse Aids: No Hospitalist: In house 24/7 Intensivist: In house during day Telemedicine coverage at night Respiratory Therapy Shared with ER Handles vent adjustments Tele Monitoring Centralized monitor techs (off-site) Nurses must be able to read & verify strips Monitor Brand: Draeger ⏰ Schedule Shift: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM Weekend: Every 3rd weekend Holiday: July 4th required Call: None Scheduling Notes No self-scheduling Block scheduling not guaranteed Travelers placed where highest need Floating May float to PCU (Progressive Care Unit) Dress Code Navy Blue Scrubs Orientation 1 shift ICU 1 shift PCU About Malone Healthcare - Nursing With a commitment to providing a higher standard of service and experience in patient care, Malone Healthcare places expert nurses and allied health professionals in rewarding careers throughout the United States.
