Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: 04/06/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Med Surg RN – 7N Unit Overview Department: Med Surg (7N) Beds: 29 Certification Required: BLS Experience Required: 1–2 years Acute Care RN experience ‍⚕️ Patient Population Mixed specialty Med Surg unit caring for: Ortho Trauma: Fractures, Joint replacements Vascular: Fem-pop bypass, Carotid endarterectomy, Heparin drips, frequent wound care Urology: TURP, TURBT, Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI) Neuro/Spine: Laminectomy, Spinal fusion, Back pain OBGYN Oncology: TAH/OBS Acute Medical overflow patients Ratios Days: 1:4–5 Nights (NOCs): 1:5–6 Drips & Skills RN must titrate drips (per nomogram): Yes Common Drips: Heparin (frequent) Nitro (occasionally) Bivalirudin Cardizem Insulin Telemetry Telemetry techs monitor 24/7 RNs do NOT read their own strips Support Staff Charge Nurse: Present on all shifts Takes patient assignment House Supervisor: Present on all shifts CNA Support: 0630–1900 → 1:8–10 1900–2300 → 2 CNAs 2300–0700 → 1 CNA Night shift RNs assist more with VS & ADLs Respiratory & Equipment CPAP BiPAP High Flow Oxygen ❌ No vents RT support available Shifts RN Shifts: 0700–1930 1100–2330 2300–0700 CNA Shifts: 0630–1900 1830–0700 No self-scheduling Block scheduling when possible Requirements Every Other Weekend Every Other Holiday No Call Must float to other adult Med Surg units Dress Code Any clean, professional scrubs ‍ Orientation 1 day computer training 1–2 days precepted floor orientation About Malone Healthcare - Nursing With a commitment to providing a higher standard of service and experience in patient care, Malone Healthcare places expert nurses and allied health professionals in rewarding careers throughout the United States.
