Job Details Location: Phoenix, AZ 85006 (Phoenix travel nursing / Arizona nursing jobs) Employment Type: Travel Contract (Travel Nurse opportunity) Unit: Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) Shift: Night (12-hour shifts: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) Hours per Week: 36 Contract Duration: 13 weeks Start Date: ASAP Estimated Weekly Salary: $1680-$1770 Job Requirements Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (must meet state requirements for practice in Arizona) BLS Certification (required prior to first shift) ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift) Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg bedside clinical experience (2 years highly desired) Responsibilities Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized medical-surgical care plans Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees as assigned Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and interdisciplinary team conferences to coordinate care Initiate discharge planning and provide patient teaching from admission to improve outcomes Promote patient and staff safety by adhering to hospital policies, infection control, and safety protocols Communicate changes in patient status to the care team and seek consultation when necessary Provide direction and training to ancillary staff and delegate tasks appropriately Contribute to a positive, efficient work environment and participate in team-building activities Assume charge nurse responsibilities as requested after orientation Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education to maintain clinical competence Why Phoenix?
