Details Unit 6B is a high-acuity Surgery/Trauma floor within an inner-city Level 1 trauma center Patient population includes spinal, neuro, trauma, and surgical cases, as well as gunshot wounds, quadriplegic, and paraplegic patients Nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1 Unit support staff includes nursing techs, phlebotomists, and a unit secretary on night shift ED nurse and admitting unit complete a formal nurse handoff upon patient transfer Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week Block scheduling is not available — candidates must be flexible with assigned shifts Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month Epic EMR is required No on-call requirements Requirements Active RN license — Georgia (GA) or Compact license required Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg specialty experience required Experience in high-acuity, high-volume hospital environments required Background managing critical, fast-paced trauma cases required Epic EMR proficiency required Additional Information This is a Level 1 trauma center handling complex, high-volume, and severe cases — candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered No RTO (time off requests) will be approved during the contract Local candidates are accepted for this position Provide direct nursing care to trauma and surgical patients including spinal, neuro, gunshot, and mobility-impaired populations American Traveler Job ID P-686528.
