Key Job Details Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – LTAC / Travel RN Location: Homewood, Alabama (Birmingham area) — zip 35209 Assignment Duration: 13 weeks Employment Type: Travel / Contract Setting: Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) — stepdown/critical care focus Shift: Day shifts, 12-hour shifts Hours per Week: 36 Openings: 8 Estimated Weekly Pay: $1770-$1870 Qualifications / Requirements Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-required) BLS certification (required prior to first shift) ACLS certification (required prior to first shift) Minimum 2 years of bedside clinical experience (post-grad) Experience in Stepdown, ICU, LTAC, or other critical care settings Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and patient education skills Responsibilities Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission to develop individualized care plans Provide LTAC nursing care and participate in patient rehabilitation programs, applying the nursing process for direct patient care Identify and address patient and family teaching needs; initiate discharge planning and patient education from admission Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in a timely and accurate manner Communicate significant changes in patient status to the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity and safety Supervise and provide direction to ancillary nursing personnel, including LPNs and CNAs Promote patient and employee safety by adhering to hospital policies, procedures, and LTAC best practices Assume charge nurse responsibilities as requested after orientation and provide leadership on the unit Maintain communication with unit management regarding supplies, equipment, and training needs Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education to stay current in critical care and LTAC nursing Why join us: This travel RN role offers meaningful LTAC experience in the Birmingham/Homewood area, collaborative teams, and opportunities for professional growth in long-term acute care nursing.
