Malone Healthcare - Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN LDRP - Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum for a travel nursing job in Ashland, Wisconsin. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: LDRP - Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum Discipline: RN Start Date: 04/06/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Department LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) Unit Details L&D Beds: 5 LDRP beds OR Suites for C-Sections: 1 Triage Beds: 0 Postpartum Beds: 3 (C-section recovery rooms) Birth Volume: ~18–20 births/month (~225 per year) ‍⚕️ Staffing & Ratios Follows Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) guidelines Day shift: 3 nurses Night shift: 2 nurses Charge nurse takes patient assignments Required Certifications BLS NRP ACLS EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) AWHONN preferred Patient Population / Common Cases Level 1 Obstetric & Nursery care. Common cases include: Pre-eclampsia Gestational Diabetes (GDM) if well controlled Deliveries 36 weeks and above ⚠️ High-risk pregnancies are typically transferred out if safe. Traveler responsibilities include: Labor Postpartum care Newborn care Triage Currently not scrubbing/circulating C-sections , but may be required in the future. Drips / Medications RNs must titrate drips , including: Oxytocin (Pitocin) Magnesium sulfate Insulin (occasionally) ‍⚕️ Physician Coverage 15 OB physicians from 3 clinics On-call system MD arrival: 10–15 minutes For imminent deliveries , the ER physician can assist. Respiratory / Equipment Neopuff T-Piece resuscitator experience preferred Monitoring System EFM System: GE CPN Monitor System with Novii RNs must be competent in EFM documentation Support Staff No nurse aides or surgical techs No telemetry/monitor techs ⏰ Shifts & Scheduling 12-hour shifts Days: 0700–1930 Nights: 1900–0730 Block scheduling possible Manager creates schedule Must be flexible for days or nights (straight nights possible) Requirements Experience: 2–3 years OB experience Must be independent in Labor, Postpartum, and Newborn care Weekend & Holiday Weekends: 2 per 4-week schedule Holidays: Every other holiday ☎️ Call Requirement 2 × 12-hour calls per 4 weeks Night call: 1900–0730 1-hour response time Floating Required to float to other departments on low census as: RN helper CNA helper Dress Code Purple scrubs provided Orientation 1–2 days unit orientation About Malone Healthcare - Nursing With a commitment to providing a higher standard of service and experience in patient care, Malone Healthcare places expert nurses and allied health professionals in rewarding careers throughout the United States.
