Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Labor and Delivery Discipline: RN Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Description: Avera Saint Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen, SD is seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join their Labor and Delivery unit. This is a contract position with 36 guaranteed hours per week, working 3x12 hour shifts on the night shift . The assignment is expected to last 13 weeks , with an ASAP start . Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients in labor and delivery. Assess, monitor, and support patients throughout labor, delivery, and post-delivery. Collaborate with obstetricians, neonatologists, and other medical staff to ensure the best patient care. Administer medications, monitor fetal and maternal health, and assist with labor and birth processes. Maintain accurate patient records and communicate effectively with families and healthcare teams. Ensure that all required certifications and competencies are maintained throughout the assignment. Qualifications: License/Certification : Current RN license in the state of South Dakota (or Compact State License). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification. AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses) certification. Experience : Minimum of 1 year of recent Labor and Delivery RN experience required. Experience working with high-risk pregnancies and labor support is preferred. Strong communication and clinical assessment skills. Skills : Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Strong attention to detail and patient safety. Compassionate, patient-centered care. Flexibility and adaptability to the dynamic needs of a hospital setting.
