Job Details & Benefits Contract Type: Travel nursing assignment (13 weeks) Scrubs: Provided on unit Work closely with in-house OBGYNs, CRNAs, and neonatal nurse practitioners Opportunity to cross-train between Labor & Delivery and Mother-Baby units Exposure to EPIC, Obix, and GE fetal monitors (preferred experience) Required Qualifications (Labor & Delivery RN) Active RN license in Ohio or compact state (required) Minimum 1 year of RN experience (required); recent L&D, ED, or ICU experience preferred BLS certification required (or must obtain prior to direct patient care) NRP certification preferred (or obtain within 6 months of hire) EKG exam required Ability to flex between Labor & Delivery and Mother-Baby units; strong assessment skills for maternity and newborn care Key Responsibilities (L&D Nurse / Maternity Nurse) Provide, coordinate, assess, plan, and evaluate nursing care for women, newborns, and families in a Level 1 OB unit Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments; develop and implement individualized care plans Monitor fetal well-being with electronic fetal monitoring; conduct vaginal exams and interventions per scope Circulate and recover C-sections; ability to scrub is a bonus Administer medications and interventions safely and document using EPIC and unit systems Support breastfeeding, provide postpartum and discharge teaching for mothers and infants Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including OBGYNs, CRNAs, and neonatal providers Maintain a culturally sensitive, inclusive, and safe environment for diverse patients and families Participate in quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and unit-based education Preferred Skills & Experience Previous travel nursing experience in obstetrics or mother-baby care Proficiency with EPIC, Obix, and GE fetal monitoring systems Strong triage, neonatal assessment, and emergency response skills Comfortable with labor support, postpartum care, and infant care education Ready to take the next step in your nursing career?
