This role involves providing care for patients undergoing minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using advanced imaging guidance. The Interventional Radiology nurse assists physicians during procedures, monitors patients during sedation, and provides pre- and post-procedure care. This position requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced procedural environment. Job Overview Specialty: Interventional Radiology (IR) Schedule: 5x8 hour day shifts Shift Time: Approximately 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Contract Length: 13 weeks Start Date: ASAP Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week Responsibilities Provide nursing care for patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures Assist physicians during minimally invasive image-guided procedures Monitor patients during moderate sedation and recovery Prepare patients for procedures and provide post-procedure monitoring Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record Ensure patient safety and procedural readiness throughout all stages of care Collaborate with physicians, technologists, and interdisciplinary teams Requirements Active RN license BLS certification Interventional Radiology nursing experience Strong IV skills Experience assisting with procedural sedation and recovery Ability to work independently in a high-acuity procedural setting Additional Details Adult and geriatric patient populations Orientation provided prior to assignment start Travelers report to onboarding location on the first day prior to starting on the unit Travelers must follow facility onboarding instructions for parking and check-in Procedural department operates during daytime hours Strong collaboration with procedural and imaging teams is expected About IDR Healthcare IDR Healthcare is an awarding winning staffing firm that believes it is a privilege and awesome responsibility to serve those who selflessly care for others.
