Job Details Job Title: Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (IR RN) / Travel RN Location: Atlanta, GA (30342) — Midtown Imaging Setting: Interventional Radiology / Medical Imaging Contract Duration: 13 weeks (travel contract) Start Date: April 13, 2026 End Date: July 11, 2026 Shift: 8-hour days, Monday–Friday (7:30am–4:00pm) Hours per Week: 40 (Guaranteed) Employment Type: Travel Nurse / Travel RN – On-site position Minimum Requirements / Qualifications Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology nursing experience (IR nurse, radiology nurse). Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing; GA RN license or Compact RN preferred. BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required. Strong patient assessment, clinical documentation, and communication skills. Ability to float to Atlanta or Meridian Mark locations as needed. No local candidates within 50 miles for this travel RN opening. Primary Responsibilities Assist interventional radiology team with procedure preparation and patient care for IR procedures. Draw up local anesthetic (Lidocaine) for technologists and prepare supplies for procedures. Send pathology samples to radiology/pathology and document specimen receipt and tracking. Conduct callbacks and follow-up for patients with abnormal mammography or imaging results. Perform pre-procedure assessments, including vital signs (blood pressure) and medication reconciliation/documentation. Dress and apply pressure to biopsy sites post-procedure and provide post-procedure patient education. Deliver compassionate patient-centered care and maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation. Preferred / Additional Skills Experience with image-guided procedures, biopsies, and vascular access in an IR setting. Comfortable working in a high-volume imaging center and collaborating with radiologists and technologists. Strong critical thinking and the ability to triage and escalate issues appropriately.
