This role involves providing nursing care for patients undergoing minimally invasive image-guided procedures in a fast-paced acute care setting. The Interventional Radiology nurse will support patients before, during, and after procedures, assist with moderate sedation, and collaborate closely with physicians and procedural staff. Candidates should be comfortable working independently while also functioning as part of a highly coordinated team. Job Overview Specialty: Interventional Radiology (IR) Schedule: 5x8 hour day shifts Shift Time: Approximately 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM Contract Length: 13 weeks Start Date: ASAP Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Charting System: Meditech Department Setting: Acute care procedural environment Responsibilities Provide nursing care for patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures Assist with pre-procedure preparation and post-procedure recovery Monitor patients during moderate sedation and throughout procedural care Support physicians during image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures Perform accurate patient assessment and ongoing monitoring Maintain timely and accurate charting in the electronic medical record Collaborate with nurses, technologists, and providers to ensure safe patient care Respond effectively in urgent or high-acuity situations Requirements Active RN license BLS certification ACLS certification Experience in a procedural department, critical care, emergency department, or moderate sedation environment Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong clinical judgment in a fast-paced procedural setting Additional Details Two interventional radiology suites Common procedures may include angiograms, biopsies, vascular interventions, and other image-guided procedures No floating required Adult acute care patient population Active state RN license is required at time of submission Local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible On-call rotation required, including approximately one call night per week and one weekend per month Interventional Radiology or Cardiac Cath Lab experience is preferred Moderate sedation experience is strongly preferred Candidates must be able to respond within the required on-call time frame About IDR Healthcare IDR Healthcare is an awarding winning staffing firm that believes it is a privilege and awesome responsibility to serve those who selflessly care for others.
