Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 04/13/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days, nights Employment Type: Travel ICU Registered Nurse (RN) | High-Acuity | Strong Support Team We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join a high-acuity, fast-paced ICU providing care to a diverse adult patient population. This is an excellent opportunity for nurses looking to expand their experience in trauma, cardiac, and critical care cases within a supportive team environment. Why This Role Stands Out 33-bed ICU with manageable average census (~16 patients) Strong nurse-to-patient ratios (1:2–3) Exposure to trauma, cardiac, stroke, and complex medical cases Utilize advanced ICU skills including vent management, titratable drips, and telemetry interpretation Support staff available , including aides and tele tech oversight Quick onboarding – minimal unit orientation required Patient Population Adult ICU patients Common diagnoses include: Trauma & stroke Cardiac conditions (post-stent, pacemakers, heart failure) Sepsis, respiratory distress, renal failure Overdose/substance abuse cases Key Responsibilities Manage critically ill patients in a high-acuity ICU setting Titrate cardiac, insulin, and sedation drips Interpret and document telemetry rhythms Provide care across respiratory support levels (nasal cannula → ventilator) Float to PCU or MedSurg as needed Scheduling & Expectations Shifts: 6:30 AM – 6:30 PM / 6:30 PM – 6:30 AM Every other weekend required Floating required (PCU/MedSurg) Schedule finalized by unit (no guaranteed block scheduling) Requirements Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (required) Strong ICU experience with drips, vents, and telemetry Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment Larger ICU with Balanced Census – 33 beds (avg census ~16) → not constantly overwhelmed Strong Ratios – 1:2–3 in ICU → solid and safe Diverse High-Acuity Cases – Trauma, cardiac, stroke, post-stent, respiratory failure Full ICU Skill Utilization – Drips (cardiac, insulin, sedation), vents, tele Support Staff Available – Aides tele tech oversight → better support vs smaller ICUs Advanced Cardiac Exposure – Pacemakers, heart failure, vascular cases Quick Start About Malone Healthcare - Nursing With a commitment to providing a higher standard of service and experience in patient care, Malone Healthcare places expert nurses and allied health professionals in rewarding careers throughout the United States.
