Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 04/06/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Unit Highlight – CCU/PCU (12-Bed Combined Unit) 12-bed combined Critical Care/Progressive Care unit (6 CCU, 6 PCU) with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2 in CCU and 1:3–4 in PCU. RNs manage a diverse patient population including sepsis, respiratory distress, DKA, overdose, and ETOH withdrawal. Requires strong critical care skills, including titration of vasoactive and high-risk drips such as Levophed, dopamine, insulin, and heparin. Nurses are responsible for cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation, with full support from monitor techs. Unit is equipped with advanced respiratory support including ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and oximizers, with respiratory therapy support available. Staffing includes nurse aides and a charge nurse on every shift, with house supervisor coverage on nights and weekends. Scheduling is self-managed (6-week blocks) with 12-hour shifts (6:00–6:30). Weekend requirement is 4 shifts per schedule, plus 1 major and 1 minor holiday if applicable. Floating may be required to med-surg or ER (if qualified). Orientation includes one day of general hospital onboarding followed by 1–2 days of unit-specific training.
