Job Details Position: Travel ICU Registered Nurse (RN), Night Shift, Cardiac ICU / CVICU Location: Dayton, OH 45409 — Dayton, Ohio travel nursing job Healthcare Setting: Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), 36-bed unit Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 5/11/2026 – End: 8/10/2026) Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00 – 07:30), 36 or 48 hours/week available — night shift ICU RN Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,800 – $1,890 Patient Ratio: 1:2 (cardiac critical care nurse) Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holiday required Qualifications / Job Requirements Minimum 1 year of dedicated CVICU experience required (Cardiac ICU nurse experience preferred) Level 1 Trauma Center experience preferred Active RN license (any state accepted; compact licenses welcome) — open to travel nurses nationwide Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS Must pass online EKG/tele competency assessment prior to start Experience with Epic electronic health record required (Epic charting experience) Clinical skills: A-lines, ventilator management, vasoactive drips, arterial sheaths, dialysis/CRRT, ABG draws Travel nursing experience preferred, but first-time travelers are welcome to apply Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered); COVID-19 vaccine not required Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, evidence-based critical care to complex cardiac patients in a high-acuity CVICU Manage advanced therapies and equipment, including mechanical ventilators, chest tubes, ECMO, Impella, and CRRT Interpret cardiac rhythms, monitor telemetry, and analyze arterial blood gases (ABGs) Administer, titrate, and monitor cardiac and vasoactive drips safely Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (IV, RT, PT, pharmacy, social services, physicians) to coordinate care Float to other specialty units within the cluster as needed (flexible critical care nursing role) Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Epic and ensure compliance with unit policies Support the care team and adapt to fast-paced, evolving cardiac critical care environments Why apply: This CVICU travel nursing job offers hands-on cardiac critical care experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center in Dayton, OH, competitive weekly pay, and opportunities to grow your critical care skillset.
