Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 04/13/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel RN - ICU Lexington, NC 13 weeks Shift - 12hr Day Shift - 36 Shift Information - 06:45 start Weekend Rotation : Every Other Holiday Requirements : Travelers will work 75% of holidays Floating Requirements : Med Surg with 4:1 ratio, ED as a resource (no assignment) JOB DESCRIPTION ● About Facility: 250 Hospital Drive, Lexington, NC 27292 ▪ How many licensed beds? 96 ▪ Trauma Designation? No ▪ Teaching Hospital? Teaching system, but we do not have residents at LMC ▪ Chest Pain Center? No ▪ Stroke Center? Yes, primary Unit Information: · Beds: 16 ▪ Census? Average patients/day? Average daily census is 10 · Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years of ICU experience · Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes, with strong ICU experience ● Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: · ARDS, sepsis, COPD, DKA, stroke, etc. (MICU type patients) ● Patient Ratios: · RN: 2:1 for ICU patients, 3:1 for IMC patients · LPN (if applicable): N/A · CNA: 1 CNA will typically assist on the unit, sometimes 2 ● Required Licensure & Certifications: · BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required ● Skills required: · Art line management, vasoactive medication titration, vent management and weaning (with RT support), chest tube management, critical thinking ● Support within the Department: · CNA? Duties? Yes, ADLs, some receptionist duties, assist with transport · Receptionist/HUC? No · Charge nurse? Yes · Phlebotomy? Yes · IV/VAT Team? No, PICC team on site partial hours · Resource Nurse? Yes · RT 24/7? Yes · Hospitalist 24/7? Yes, they do not cover CCU · Intensivist 24/7? Yes · Telemetry monitoring/tech? Yes, they do not monitor CCU rhythms, only act as back-up ● Technology/Equipment: · EMR: EPIC · IV Pump: Alaris · Med dispensing: Omnicell · Monitors: Client · Unit specific equipment: Bair Hugger, Verathon Bladder Scanner, Blanketrol machine ● Floating: If yes, where? · Med Surg with 4:1 ratio, ED as a resource (no assignment) ● Orientation (facility and unit): · NEO · 2 days departmental ● Scheduling: · Weekend rotation: every other · On call? If so, what is that schedule?
