Job Description & Requirements Specialty: CTICU - Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 04/06/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel CTICU / CVICU RN – Travel Role (Arizona Region) Must-Have Requirements Level I Trauma experience – REQUIRED ICU RN (CVICU preferred, but cardiac ICU experience acceptable ) Strong experience with: IABP, CABG, ECMO, CRRT BLS & ACLS required , CCRN preferred Must pass: Dysrhythmia exam (2 attempts only) Day 1 SIMs Lab (pass/fail) Day 1 SIMs Lab (Critical) Foley catheter insertion Central line dressing change Strict sterile technique required Breaking sterile field = immediate termination risk Unit Details Unit: CTICU / CVICU Beds: 24 Patient Ratio: 1:1 – 1:2 (mostly 1:1) High Acuity Unit Facility Info EMR: Cerner Telemetry: Phillips Intensivist: In-house days, on-call nights RT & Pharmacy: 24/7 available IV Team: ❌ (Strong IV skills required) ‍⚕️ Support Staff Charge nurse (no patient load) 2 PCTs (day & night when census is high) Schedule Shift: 7AM–7PM / 7PM–7AM Weekend: 3 shifts in 4 weeks Holidays: Rotational Floating Float required: Other ICUs Tele units ( 4:1 ratio ) Westgate campus if needed Travelers float before permanent staff Common Cases / Procedures Cardiac surgery recovery ECMO, IABP, CRRT Lung transplant Thoracic surgeries (lobectomy, pneumonectomy) TAVR, esophagectomy Frequent bedside procedures: Bronchoscopy Swan-Ganz Epidurals About Malone Healthcare - Nursing With a commitment to providing a higher standard of service and experience in patient care, Malone Healthcare places expert nurses and allied health professionals in rewarding careers throughout the United States.
