Job Details Position: Travel Cardiac Stepdown RN (Progressive Care Unit / Telemetry Nurse) Location: Plattsburgh, NY 12901 — RN jobs in Plattsburgh | New York nursing jobs Assignment Type: Travel (Travel Nursing Job) Shift: 12-hour nights (Night Shift Telemetry Nurse) Hours per Week: 36 Duration: 4 weeks (Start: 3/12/2026 – End: 4/9/2026) Setting: Acute inpatient Progressive Care Telemetry (PCU / Cardiac Stepdown) Patient Ratio: 3:1 Documentation System: EPIC (electronic health record experience required) Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and as needed for holidays Floating: Required as part of the Resource Float team to similar units Estimated Weekly Salary: $2250-$2370/week Number of Open Positions: 1 Job Requirements Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be on file at time of submission) Minimum 1 year of recent clinical experience in telemetry, cardiac stepdown, or progressive care (PCU) Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification (required prior to start) EPIC documentation experience within the past 2 years (required for this Telemetry Nurse role) Ability to float to similar units as needed (Resource Float team experience a plus) Reliable personal or rental transportation (public transportation not accessible) All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained Professional appearance: navy blue or white scrubs, closed-toe nonskid shoes, minimal jewelry, no artificial nails, and groomed hair (no beards) Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients with acute cardiac and progressive care needs as a Cardiac Stepdown RN / Telemetry Nurse Monitor and manage patients with diagnoses such as acute coronary syndrome, heart failure, post-cardiac catheterization, and patients requiring advanced monitoring or drips (insulin, cardiac drips, etc.) Initiate and manage IVs, perform and interpret EKGs, and provide post-procedure care for cardiac patients Manage telemetry monitoring, alarms, and documentation in EPIC; ensure accurate medication administration using MAK Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including respiratory therapy and anesthesia support available 24/7 Participate in the Resource Float team and adapt to unit needs while maintaining high standards of patient safety and infection control Complete 1-2 days of orientation and engage in ongoing professional development as needed Adhere to all facility protocols, safety standards, and evidence-based cardiac nursing practices This travel nursing position is perfect for Cardiac Telemetry RNs, Progressive Care Unit nurses, and Telemetry Nurse candidates seeking short-term Travel Nurse assignments in New York.
