Job Details Location: Lynchburg, VA 24501 (Central Virginia; local candidates accepted) Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Stepdown / Telemetry / IMU / IMCU Assignment Type: Travel Nurse Contract (W2) Unit: LAC Resource Team (Intermediate Care/IMU/IMCU) Duration: 13 weeks (option to extend up to 16 weeks) Start Dates: 02/09/2026 or 02/23/2026 (Orientation every other Monday) Hours per Week: 36 Shift: 12-hour days Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,910 - $2,010 Float Requirement: No Required Qualifications – Cardiac Stepdown RN / Telemetry RN Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience; prior travel nurse experience required Active Virginia RN license or Compact RN license (must be active at start) Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale Charge nurse experience preferred (training provided; pay differential available) Experience with Cerner EMR preferred Ability to work 2 of 3 winter holidays Submission documents: work history (explain gaps >90 days), skills checklist, copy of Nursys/license Approved COVID/Flu declinations accepted Responsibilities – Cardiac Stepdown / IMU RN Provide high-quality nursing care to intermediate-acuity patients including cardiac, telemetry, neuro, med-surg, and CVA cases Perform charge nurse duties as required; mentor unit staff and support students/new hires in a teaching hospital Monitor telemetry, manage cardiac patients, titrate drips per protocol, and respond to rapid changes in patient condition Accurately document patient care using Cerner EMR and follow hospital policies and protocols Participate in orientation, competency validation, and ongoing clinical training Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes Why This Travel Nursing Job in Lynchburg, VA?
