Job Details Assignment Type: Travel Contract (Travel Nurse / Travel RN) Location: Charlotte, North Carolina (28204) — Charlotte healthcare jobs, North Carolina nursing jobs Setting: Level III/IV NICU (Intensive Care Nursery) – neonatal intensive care Start Date: May 18, 2026 End Date: August 17, 2026 Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 – 07:15), 36 hours per week Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,640 – $1,730 Patient Ratio: 1:2-4 Self-scheduling based on unit needs Orientation: 24 hours provided Job Requirements / Qualifications Minimum 3 years recent NICU experience in a Level III or IV NICU/ICN (required) Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or Compact State (required at start) Current BLS and NRP certifications (required) Experience with ventilator management and advanced neonatal respiratory care Epic (EPIC) charting experience preferred Comfortable floating to Pediatrics, PICU, and nursery caring for infants up to 12 months Ability to manage complex neonatal equipment and therapies First-time travel nurses welcomed — excellent travel nurse opportunity Responsibilities Provide high-quality, compassionate care to neonates, including premature infants (as early as 22 weeks gestation) and complex surgical infants Manage advanced therapies and procedures: therapeutic hypothermia, nitric oxide, UAC/UVC, peripherally inserted central lines (PCLs), Broviac, tracheostomies, G-tubes, ostomies Operate and monitor specialized neonatal equipment: Tecotherm, BCPAP, Alaris IV pumps, Servo Vents, HFOV, Baby Leo, Giraffe Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, surgery, and social services Ensure accurate documentation and patient safety using Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR, and 4P systems Float as needed to support pediatric and infant care units and participate in unit self-scheduling Adhere to weekend/holiday coverage requirements (3 Fridays, 3 Saturdays, and 3 Sundays per 6-week period) Why Charlotte & Benefits Charlotte offers southern charm, a thriving arts and dining scene, and access to outdoor activities—ideal for travel nurses seeking a rewarding assignment in North Carolina.
