A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity: RN - Stepdown Job Details: • Work three 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM • Rotating weekends required • Float required as needed across all Cone Health facilities • Patient ratio of 5:1 for all shifts • 24 hours of orientation provided • Minimum 2 years of experience required - first time travelers accepted • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale • Neuro Progressive Care Unit experience required • Previous Charge RN experience preferred • Must pass mandatory EKG exam (2 attempts allowed) • Epic charting system experience required • Skills include: CVA care, External CPAP/BiPAP, TR band management, Yale Swallowing screen • Care for medical neurological patients including stroke, seizure disorders, traumatic brain injury, and movement disorders • Work with centralized cardiac monitoring surveillance • Zero tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences • Staff scheduled for 6-week periods via self-assisted scheduling through Optilink • Two pre-approved time off requests allowed • Non-billable modules averaging 2-4 hours completed during orientation Facility: This healthcare facility features a 30-bed Medical Neuroscience Progressive Care department with a primary focus on caring for medical neurological patients.
