Join our postpartum/OBGYN team near Ohio State University and downtown Columbus. About the Role Join a dedicated Mother/Baby/postpartum nursing team in the heart of Columbus, Ohio. This 13-week travel nursing assignment places you in a high-quality postpartum unit providing family-centered care to mothers and newborns. Ideal for experienced postpartum Registered Nurses and travel nurses seeking Columbus nursing jobs and Ohio travel nursing opportunities. Job Details Location: Columbus, OH 43210 – steps from Ohio State University, downtown dining, parks, and cultural events Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (May 4, 2026 – August 3, 2026) Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:30) Hours per Week: 36 Unit: 7 West Doan Hall and 7 West Rhodes Hall, Postpartum / OB-GYN (mother/baby unit) Patient Ratio: 3-4 dyads (6-8 patients) per nurse Orientation: 36 hours Parking: Multiple permit options available Compensation Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1720–$1820/week Job Requirements / Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license: compact or Ohio RN license in hand at submission Minimum 2 years of postpartum/mother-baby nursing experience required BLS certification (AHA) IV start skills and prior Labor & Delivery (L&D) experience preferred EPIC charting experience required (electronic medical record competency) Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program Ability to pass EKG exam prior to start (telemetry interpretation required) Two professional references (one from manager/director or formal leadership) Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only) Previous travel nursing experience preferred (travel RN / contract RN) Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive postpartum and mother-baby care for vaginal and cesarean patients Perform newborn assessments, metabolic screens, and initiate/monitor phototherapy Administer medications including IV antibiotics, insulin drips, antihypertensives, magnesium sulfate, and Pitocin Start and maintain IVs, manage pain control, and perform bladder assessments/Foley catheter insertion Teach and support breastfeeding/lactation, circumcision care, and discharge instructions to parents and families Manage infants with NAS (neonatal abstinence syndrome), hypoglycemia, low birth weight, and other common postpartum diagnoses Float to units of similar acuity as needed within the organization Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, and social services Maintain accurate, timely charting in EPIC to support high-quality patient care Why Apply: This travel nursing assignment is a great opportunity for experienced Mother/Baby RNs and postpartum nurses looking for Columbus, OH jobs.
