A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Job Details: • Work 12-hour night shifts with 36 or 48 hours per week accepted • 13-26 week contract duration • Patient ratio of 1:5-6 • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required • Accepts first-time travelers • Required certifications: BLS • Must pass EKG testing prior to start • 24-hour unit orientation required • Hospital orientation during first week with daily class attendance required • Floating within hospital or to affiliate hospitals required • Weekend requirement: 12-16 shifts per contract • Maximum 7 days RTO allowed • Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays • Fatigue policy: Cannot work more than 5 days in a row or more than 60 hours per week • Dress code: Navy and white scrubs • Must be assigned to Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team • May be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualties, or disasters • Required skills include telemetry monitoring, IV management, wound care, blood product administration, central line care, chest tube management, isolation precautions • Work with Epic documentation system and Pyxis medication system • Care for patients with diagnoses including diabetes, dementia, COVID, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, hip fractures, and various medical-surgical conditions • 8-10 hours of non-billable modules must be completed pre-start and annually Facility: This healthcare facility operates a comprehensive medical-surgical unit with 43 beds and a daily census of 39 patients. The facility features an isolation area for COVID patients and provides multi-level care including step-down services.
