Job Requirements / Qualifications Minimum 2 years recent PCU / Step-Down nursing experience (progressive care or telemetry preferred) Active RN license: compact license accepted or Ohio RN license at submission (must meet state requirements) Current BLS required; ACLS preferred IV certification required; IV skills and experience with central/PICC/peripheral lines EPIC charting experience required (electronic medical record proficiency) Ability to pass hospital telemetry competency test and monitor telemetry patients Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program Two professional references required (one from manager/director or formal leadership) Seasonal influenza vaccination required (medical exemptions only) Core Responsibilities Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care for post-surgical and general medicine patients in a progressive care / step-down setting Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage dysrhythmias, and participate in rapid response and code team interventions Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and titrate drips (including insulin drips) Perform wound care, manage surgical drains, and care for central/PICC/peripheral lines and oxygen therapy Educate patients and families on care plans, discharge instructions, and post-operative expectations Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (PT, Respiratory, Pharmacy, Social Work, Radiology) to optimize patient outcomes Accurately document patient care using EPIC and support unit workflow (unit secretary, transport coordination) May be asked to float to other units as needed to support hospital staffing Location & Local Perks Experience Columbus, Ohio — a vibrant city with a thriving arts scene, diverse restaurants, and welcoming neighborhoods.
