Details Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) Med/Surg Telemetry unit with a cardiac patient population Night shift patient ratios are 6–7:1, with potential stretch to 8–10:1 if staff call-outs occur Day/evening patient ratios are 5:1, with potential stretch to 6–7:1 PCTs are available on all units and assist with vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and ADLs Every other weekend (EOW) required Floating between like units required to meet facility needs No on-call requirement Epic EMR used; prior experience preferred Block scheduling will be accommodated when possible, but is not guaranteed Requirements Active NY RN license required (pending licenses not accepted) Current BLS certification required Minimum 1 year of MS/Tele RN experience required Phlebotomy competency is mandatory for all RNs at this facility IV placement competency is mandatory for all RNs at this facility Proficiency in telemetry interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required Experience with peripheral line care/management required Experience with non-invasive airway management, including nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, and portable oxygen tanks required Familiarity with rapid response team protocols and isolation precautions required 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration Additional Information First-time travelers are welcome to apply Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted RTO is limited to no more than 1 week per 13-week contract; all time-off requests must be submitted at the time of initial application Scrub color requirement: any combination of navy and white American Traveler Job ID P-679850.
