Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Tele Job Details: • 12-hour orientation required • Patient ratio of 6:1 for days, nights, and weekends • Weekend coverage required with every other holiday worked • Float to all other inpatient units as needed (agency staff pulled first) • 2 years of experience in specialty required • Must live over 65 miles from facility (no local travelers accepted) • Care for adult and geriatric patients on 24-bed telemetry unit with daily census of 24 • Manage patients with chest pain, CAD, PVD, arrhythmias, diabetes, COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, hypertension, MI, renal failure, PE, CHF, GI bleed, and syncope • Handle med-surg overflow patients including sepsis and CVA cases • Perform pre/post cath lab care, PPM/AICD procedures, ablations, and vascular surgeries • Titrate cardiac drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, and Heparin • Perform bedside sheath removal procedures • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIHSS • Must have telemetry monitoring experience and dysrhythmia interpretation/management skills • Experience required with chest tubes, PCAs, epidurals, wound vacs, blood product administration, central/peripheral/PICC line care, IV starts, port accessing, and isolation precautions • Compact or Louisiana license required upon submittal • Must be available for Emergency Team assignment during emergency events • Unable to guarantee specific scheduling requests such as block scheduling Facility: This medical center features a comprehensive cardiovascular telemetry unit with 24 beds serving adult and geriatric patients.
