A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Tele Job Details: • 12-hour orientation required • Patient ratio of 6:1 for days, nights, and weekends • 24-bed unit with daily census of 24 patients • Weekend coverage required, working every other holiday • Float to all other inpatient units as needed (agency staff pulled first) • No call required • Cannot guarantee specific scheduling requests such as block scheduling • Must have 2 years of experience in specialty • Must live over 65 miles from facility (no local travelers accepted) • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIHSS, Telemetry • Must have Louisiana or Compact license in hand upon submittal • NURSYS report required and must be current within 4 weeks of submission • Required skills include sheath removal, IV insulin protocols, feeding tube care, hemodialysis management, heparin protocols, BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation • Care for patients with chest pain, CAD, PVD, arrhythmias, diabetes, COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, hypertension, MI, renal failure, PE, CHF, GI bleed, and syncope • Handle pre/post cardiac catheterization, pacemaker/AICD procedures, ablations, vascular surgeries • Manage and titrate cardiac drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, and heparin • Work with telemetry monitoring, chest tubes, PCAs, epidurals, and wound vacs • Potential assignment to Emergency Team during emergency events with expectation to remain at facility until event passes Facility: This medical center is a comprehensive healthcare facility providing advanced cardiac and medical-surgical services.
