Details Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit in a hospital setting Patient ratio of 1:6 Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM Weekend requirement: as needed On-call requirement: 2 on-call shifts per 6 weeks OR 2 additional shifts per 6 weeks Epic EMR experience preferred but not required Block scheduling is not available for this position Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible Requirements Active SC or compact RN license required; pending license accepted if obtained before start date Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience required; 2 years preferred Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration Must be able to pass an arrhythmia test and medication test on the first day of orientation (one attempt allowed) Additional Information First-time travelers are welcome to apply Candidates must pass a Cardiac Dysrhythmia Test and a Moderate Sedation Test on the first day of orientation — travelers receive one attempt Fit testing is required on-site; shaving may be required to pass — failure to pass fit testing requirements may affect assignment eligibility All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront; RTO requests made after the initial submission will not be considered An attendance policy is in effect: missing more than two shifts per 13-week contract without reasonable explanation may result in contract review for cancellation American Traveler Job ID P-684156.
