Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 04/06/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel RN Position Job Notes: Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Orthopedic Job Details: • Must be charge capable and willing to serve in charge nurse role • Orthopedic experience required with minimum 2 years of specialty experience • EPIC charting system experience required • Patient ratio of 1:5 or 1:6 • No on-call requirements • Floating to other in-patient units required (rehab, post-op trauma, ortho neuro trauma, med-surg, oncology, observation) • Care for patients with total joint replacements (knees, hips, shoulders), ortho spine procedures (ACDF, TILF), and other orthopedic surgeries • Work with special equipment including bladder scanner, Hoyer lift, and orthopedic braces • Required certifications: ACLS and BLS (AHA) • Must live over 65 miles from facility (local travelers not accepted) • Louisiana or Compact license required upon submittal • NURSYS reports must be submitted and current within 4 weeks • Two manager/supervisor references required for clearance • No RTO greater than 2 weeks allowed • Emergency team assignment possible during emergency events with expectation to stay at facility • Strict no call-in policy enforced • First-time travelers not accepted Facility: This orthopedic specialty center focuses on comprehensive musculoskeletal care, providing advanced surgical and post-operative services for patients with orthopedic conditions.
