Job Details Location: Peoria, IL (61637) — Peoria healthcare jobs / Central Illinois Setting: Acute Care Hospital — Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg RN) unit, 29 beds Contract Duration: 13 weeks (March 30, 2026 – June 29, 2026) Shift: 12-hour nights (7p–7a); every other weekend required Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Estimated Weekly Pay: $2130-$2250/week Charting System: EPIC (experience preferred) Scrub Color: Any color (bring your own) Job Requirements / Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois, or Illinois RN application in progress BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required Minimum 1 year of recent medical-surgical (Med/Surg) RN experience — travel nurse experience a plus Comfortable with IV starts and peripheral access Ability to titrate Heparin drips and manage common acute care infusions Experience documenting in EPIC or other electronic health record systems Negative drug screen required (OSF drug-free campus) Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to a diverse adult patient population on a Med/Surg unit, including GI bleeds, sepsis, cellulitis, CHF, COVID, DVT/PE, osteomyelitis, elderly falls, and comfort/hospice care Work as a night shift RN managing typical nurse-to-patient ratios of 5–6:1 Titrate Heparin drips and perform IV starts per unit protocols Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team: Charge RN, Crisis RN, administrative supervisors, and patient care technicians Float to other Med/Surg units as needed (no ICU or oncology/chemo patients required) Participate in shift report, weekend and holiday rotations, and unit-specific orientation (two shifts) Document patient care accurately and timely using EPIC Experience Peoria’s riverfront, dining, and welcoming community while advancing your career as a travel nurse.
