Job Details Location: Peoria, IL (61637) — Med/Surg RN, night shift, acute care Unit: Surgical Acute – Medical Surgical (Medical/Surgical) Shift: 12 Hour Nights (7:30 PM – 7:30 AM) — Night Shift RN Hours: 36 hours per week, guaranteed Duration: 13 weeks (March 30, 2026 – June 29, 2026) Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Holiday Requirement: Rotate every other holiday Orientation: 2 shifts with preceptor 1 shift for EPIC/professional orientation Dress Code: Any color scrubs Care Setting: Acute care / Medical-Surgical Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,130 - $2,250 per week Job Requirements Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (or application initiated) BLS certification (AHA required) Minimum 1 year of recent Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg) RN experience in an acute care setting Strong post-op care, wound care, IV therapy, and critical thinking skills Excellent bedside manner, teamwork, and communication skills Ability to float to units with similar acuity as needed Negative drug screen required Responsibilities Provide care for post-op surgical, trauma, and overflow medical patients as a Med/Surg RN Perform dressing changes, wound care, IV therapy, pain management, drains, NG tube care, central line care, and TPN Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, patient care techs, and interdisciplinary team members Manage CPAP and high-flow oxygen therapies (RT manages nebulizers; RN manages inhalers and CPAP placement) Work with telemetry monitors (Phillips); coordinate with monitor techs for rhythm interpretation Maintain accurate charting using EPIC electronic health record (EHR) Participate in professional orientation and ongoing unit education to support competency development Adhere to all hospital policies, including floating and call-off requirements Why join our team: Work in a supportive acute care environment as a night shift Med/Surg RN in Peoria, IL.
