Job Details Location: Peoria, IL 61637 — Peoria, Illinois travel nursing job Setting: Surgical Acute / Medical-Surgical Unit (Med/Surg) Contract Duration: 13 weeks (March 30, 2026 – June 29, 2026) Shift: 12-Hour Nights (7:30 PM – 7:30 AM) Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed hours Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Saturday & Sunday) Holiday Requirement: Rotating, every other holiday Orientation: 2 shifts with preceptor plus 1 EPIC/professional orientation shift Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,130 - $2,250 Job Requirements Active RN license in Illinois (or proof of application in progress) BLS (AHA) required Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg RN experience in acute care or surgical settings Strong post-operative care, wound care, and critical thinking skills Experience with IV therapy, drains, NG tubes, central lines, and TPN preferred Comfortable working nights, floating to similar units when needed, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams Negative drug screen required Responsibilities Provide safe, patient-centered care for post-op surgical, trauma, and overflow medical patients in a medical-surgical/acute care environment Perform dressing changes, wound care, IV therapy, pain management, and manage drains, NG tubes, central lines, and TPN Monitor post-operative patients, recognize complications, and escalate care appropriately Document accurately using EPIC electronic health record (EHR) system Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, surgeons, physicians, and patient care techs to ensure continuity of care Float to similar units as needed to meet patient care needs Maintain a positive bedside manner and contribute to a team-oriented, professional work environment Participate in orientation and ongoing professional development to support excellence in medical-surgical nursing Why apply: This Peoria, IL travel nursing position is ideal for RNs seeking hands-on acute care Med/Surg experience, EPIC charting exposure, and a supportive multidisciplinary team.
