This night shift travel nurse position supports the Neurovascular Unit (NVU) with float to other Med/Surg units at a community hospital. Ideal for acute care RNs seeking to expand clinical skills in neurovascular care, orthopedics, vascular cases, and elective joint replacements while working with interdisciplinary teams in a well-equipped facility. Job Details Job Title: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nurse, Night Shift Location: Battle Creek, MI 49017 (Battle Creek healthcare / Michigan nursing jobs) Unit: Neurovascular Unit (NVU) C2; float to other Med/Surg units as needed Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 20, 2026) Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:30) Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours available) Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Orientation: Must be available for the first 2 weeks Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,930 – $2,030 (estimated weekly pay for travel nurse) Job Requirements / Qualifications Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Michigan (valid MI RN license) Minimum 1 year Med/Surg RN experience required (1.5 years preferred); acute care or neuro experience a plus BLS (AHA) required — pending accepted if willing to obtain NIHSS certification preferred (neurovascular experience preferred) Experience with Epic (Epic EHR charting) preferred Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only) Willingness to float to other Med/Surg units and work collaboratively with RN, LPN, and Tech staff References required for travel nursing placement Responsibilities Provide high-quality, patient-centered care to adult and geriatric Med/Surg patients, including neurological disorders, orthopedic fractures, vascular conditions, and elective total joint replacements Manage night shift patient ratios typically 1:5-6 with LPN support as available Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and perform wound care and dressing changes Monitor and manage surgical drains, chest tubes, feeding tubes, and tracheostomies Use Epic for accurate and timely documentation and care coordination Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV team, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams Float to other Med/Surg units as needed to meet patient care demands Participate in orientation, annual modules, and maintain isolation precautions and PPE protocols This travel nurse opening is an excellent fit for Med/Surg RNs seeking a night shift travel contract in Michigan with hands-on neurovascular and acute care experience.
