A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Job Details: • Work 3x12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM • Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday) • No call responsibilities • Float required as needed to other units • Must work Charge RN shifts as needed • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required • Previous travel experience required • Charge RN experience required • BLS certification required • Epic charting system experience required • Must pass EKG exam during compliance (2 attempts allowed) • Patient ratio experience of 5-6 patients • 24 hours of orientation provided • Care for patients from adulthood through geriatrics including orthopedic and medical surgical patients • Work with telemetry monitoring capabilities • Manage patients with total joint replacements, fracture repairs, kyphoplasties, and various surgical procedures • Handle skills including accessing/managing ports, PCA, tracheostomy care, chest tubes, wound care, IV management, and blood product administration • Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences • Must complete compliance by 12 noon EST the Wednesday prior to start date Facility: This medical center operates a 32-bed unit providing comprehensive care to adult and geriatric patients with orthopedic and medical surgical needs. The facility features telemetry monitoring capabilities and includes an on-unit physical therapy gym allowing patients to receive adequate therapy without leaving the unit. The department maintains a daily census of approximately 28 patients and offers extensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The facility accommodates various patient populations and sometimes handles high-acuity emergency department patients.
