A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Job Details: • Work day shifts with every other weekend schedule • Option for 4x12 hour shifts available • Float to like units as needed • Possible charge nurse responsibilities when needed • Patient ratio of 1:6 for adults and geriatrics population • 30-bed medical surgical unit • 30-minute lunch required with no skipped meals policy • Minimum 1 year of experience required • Previous charge experience preferred • Level II Trauma experience preferred • Travel experience preferred • Alabama nursing license required • Required certifications: Current BLS via AHA and Fit Test • Preferred certifications: NIHSS • Skills include: IV starts, isolation precautions, wound care/wound vac, colostomy/ileostomy management, feeding tube care, blood product administration, peripheral line care, PICC line management, heparin and insulin administration, PCA management, surgical drains, oxygen administration • Must adhere to call-in policy • Maximum 7 days requested time off allowed • Local candidates within 60-mile radius considered • Access to interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary Facility: This healthcare facility operates a 30-bed medical surgical unit providing comprehensive care for adult and geriatric patients with regular medical surgical diagnoses.
