A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Job Details: • Work 12-hour night shifts with 36 or 48 hours per week • Patient ratios of 1:6-7 (must be comfortable with these ratios) • Every other weekend requirement • Float to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holding • Contract lengths of 13-26 weeks accepted • Maximum 7 days RTO allowed, must work 2 out of 3 major holidays • Cannot work more than 5 days in a row and/or more than 60 hours per week • 12-hour unit orientation plus 16-hour organizational education • Navy scrubs required • Must pass EKG testing prior to start • Required to work Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team during catastrophic events • Minimum 2 years of experience required in last 5 years • Must be able to manage heparin drips, PCA, colostomy care, feeding tube care, blood product administration • Central line care/management, peripheral line care/management, phlebotomy, PICC line management, IV starts • Management of dysrhythmias, O2 protocol management, non-invasive airway management • Isolation precautions/PPE, traumatic brain injury care, ortho trauma, surgical drains, chest tubes • Tracheostomy management, wound care • Epic documentation experience required • BLS certification required • ACLS preferred • North Carolina or Compact license required Facility: This healthcare facility is a major regional medical center providing comprehensive emergency and trauma services.
