Details Work in a 35-bed combined Orthopedic and Neuro Medical-Surgical unit Patient population includes Medical-Surgical, Orthopedic, and Neurological cases Patient ratio is 1:6 Telemetry is monitored centrally rather than at the bedside Support staff includes Patient Care Technicians, Patient Transporters, and a house discharge nurse that floats across all departments Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30 Floating is required to units of equal or lesser acuity Block scheduling is considered on a case-by-case basis Epic is the EMR; experience within the last 6 months is required Free covered parking and discounted meals are available on-site Requirements Active TX RN license or a compact RN license currently in hand Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 1 year of RN experience required Medical-Surgical, Orthopedic, or Neuro nursing experience required Epic EMR experience within the last 6 months required Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration Additional Information First-time travelers are welcome to apply Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before being eligible as a traveler No more than 3 days of RTO will be approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation Scrubs of any color are acceptable, but logos are not permitted Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position American Traveler Job ID P-684110.
