Details Mixed cardiac and medical ICU setting (Med-Surgical ICU A) Patient population includes DKA, acute respiratory failure, MIs, CABGs, and ventilator-dependent patients Nurse-to-patient ratio is 2:1 for ICU patients and 4:1 for IMCU patients Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM Every other weekend required No on-call requirements No floating required 13-week contract Requirements Active LA RN license or current compact state RN license required BLS certification required (AHA) ACLS certification required (AHA) Minimum 1 year of critical care experience preferred; new graduates will be considered BSN preferred All certifications must be current and unexpired SSN required for consideration Additional Information Provides routine and complex nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation Administers medications and treatments per protocol and monitors for side effects and effectiveness Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers New hires must attend orientation within the first 30 days and complete both organizational and Critical Care department-specific competency validations Temp-to-perm conversion is a possibility Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates First-time travelers and new graduates are welcome to apply American Traveler Job ID P-684776.
