Details Work in a 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU within a Level III trauma center Adult patient population with diagnoses such as substance abuse, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock RN to patient ratio is typically 1:2 or 1:1 with high acuity, and 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to Med/Surg units Night shift schedule from 19:00-07:30 Every other weekend required Floating required, primarily to Med/Surg units Uses Epic EMR system Attending physicians and residents are present in the ICU 24/7 Requirements Active Massachusetts RN license required and must be in hand at the time of consideration Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) are required Minimum of 2 years of continuous adult ICU experience, preferably in a MICU setting Competency in reading telemetry strips is required Must be able to float to Medical/Surgical units as assigned Flu vaccination required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed Additional Information Provide critical care to high-acuity adult patients in the ICU Free on-site parking available First time travelers not specified; please inquire if needed Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted but at a reduced rate Scrub color/type not specified; inquire prior to assignment American Traveler Job ID P-673901.
