Job Details Location: Albany, NY 12208 — Capital Region, New York Position Type: Travel RN / Registered Nurse (Med/Surg Telemetry) Setting: 600 bed academic hospital (inpatient acute care) Unit: Med/Surg Telemetry (AMC 78) — telemetry nurse, cardiac telemetry monitoring Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (12-hour nights) — night shift RN Contract Duration: 13 weeks Hours per Week: 36 Estimated Weekly Salary: $2130-$2250/week Start Date: February 15, 2026 Scrub Color: Navy Blue EMR: Epic (experience required) Job Requirements / Qualifications Active RN license (state required) At least 1 year of experience in a 600 bed academic hospital with passing competency testing score, or 2 years of Med/Surg/Telemetry experience (no testing required) Epic EMR experience required — strong Epic documentation skills preferred Competency test required within 24 hours of submission (unless 2 years of experience) Ability to wear navy blue scrubs Strong communication, critical thinking, and clinical assessment skills — telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation experience helpful Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg Telemetry patients in an acute care setting Continuously monitor and interpret telemetry data; respond promptly to changes in patient status and arrhythmias Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, respiratory therapy, rehab, case management) to develop and implement patient care plans Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in Epic EMR Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, treatment plans, and post-discharge instructions Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment for patients, staff, and visitors Why join us: This Albany, NY travel nursing job places you in a busy academic medical center with opportunities to expand telemetry and acute care skills while enjoying the cultural and outdoor attractions of the Capital Region.
