Details Acute care Magnet-designated hospital with 222 staffed beds Med/Surg Telemetry unit with an orthopedic focus, including total joint and fracture cases Patient ratio of 1:5–6 Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) Every other weekend required No on-call requirements Floating within the Med/Surg service line to a sister facility as needed Charting via Epic (experience required) Navy scrubs required Free parking on-site Requirements Active IL RN license required (pending IL license may be considered — please note status during the application process) Active MO RN license required at time of consideration BLS certification required; NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Orthopedic nursing experience required, with proficiency in total joint and fracture care Epic EMR experience required Ability to perform heavy lifting Additional Information First-time travelers are welcome to apply Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted RTO is limited to 7 days per 13-week contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation Travelers may work at this facility for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required Former permanent employees of BJC facilities must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler 13-week contract minimum; longer contract extensions may be available American Traveler Job ID P-684152.
