Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Tele Job Details: • Must be flexible with weekend requirements and able to work 50% of weekends during contract • Required to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) within University and Methodist Hospitals • May be assigned charge nurse responsibilities with provided training and resources • Patient ratios: 1:5-6 (days 1:5, nights 1:5-6) • Care for adult and geriatric patients with cardiovascular surgical, peripheral vascular surgical conditions, arrhythmias, endocarditis, and CHF exacerbations • Must agree to possibility of precepting and/or having students shadow during assignment • Call-in shifts must be made up during pay period or added to end of contract • Minimum 2 years of experience required • Travel experience required • Required certification: BCLS • Must have skills in telemetry monitoring, IV starts, dysrhythmia interpretation and management • Additional skills include pre/post cardiac surgery care, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, heparin protocols • Experience with Cerner charting system preferred • Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays • Indiana/Compact license must be in hand prior to start date • 18 months minimum experience required • Local Indiana residents not accepted for this position Facility: This major academic medical center serves as a teaching facility providing comprehensive healthcare services.
