Job Responsibilities • Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients with complex medical conditions • Monitor and assess patient status, including vital signs, neurological status, and cardiac rhythms • Care for patients requiring ventilator support and advanced respiratory interventions • Administer medications, IV therapies, and specialized treatments as ordered by physicians • Collaborate with respiratory therapists and care teams to manage ventilated patients • Respond to changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions • Maintain accurate and detailed patient documentation in accordance with hospital protocols • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, recovery expectations, and care needs • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to care planning • Ensure compliance with patient safety, infection control, and regulatory standards Critical Care RN Requirements • Minimum 1 year of recent experience in ICU or Step-Down units • Experience in LTAC settings highly preferred • Must be comfortable caring for ventilator-dependent patients • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills • Ability to manage complex patient conditions and rapidly changing clinical situations Education & Certification Requirements • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia or eligibility to obtain • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required • Experience with ventilated patients strongly preferred About Athens, Georgia Athens is one of Georgia’s most vibrant and welcoming cities, offering a perfect mix of culture, entertainment, outdoor recreation, and southern charm.
