Job Details Position: Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (Travel L&D RN / Labor and Delivery RN) Location: Clinton, Maryland (20735) — Washington, D.C. metro area; Maryland nursing job Setting: On-site Labor & Delivery unit (high-risk OB) Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 6, 2026 – July 6, 2026) Shift: Day Shift, 3x12-hour (07:00 – 19:30) Hours per Week: 36 Estimated Weekly Pay Range: $2,030 – $2,130 Patient Ratios: 2:1 (days & nights) Call Requirement: 36 hours in 6 weeks (12 hours per pay period); must be on-site within 45 minutes Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend & every other holiday required Floating: Required within skillset (Mom/Baby, postpartum, triage) Orientation: 36 hours Flu Vaccine: Required (no exemptions) Minimum Qualifications Experience: Minimum 2 years recent high-risk Labor & Delivery RN experience (travel nurse and permanent L&D nurses encouraged to apply) Leadership: Previous charge nurse experience required; ability to precept and serve as charge nurse Licensure: Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license (required at submission) Required Certifications (at submission): NRP, S.T.A.B.L.E., C-EFM (NCC) Required Certifications: BLS and ACLS Preferred: Obstetrical triage experience; maternal/fetal complications and high-risk antepartum care Key Clinical Skills: Circulate for C-sections, external fetal monitoring, recognition/treatment of abnormal fetal heart patterns, assist with operative and high-risk deliveries Patient Population: Neonates and adult obstetrical patients References: Two (2) supervisor references required Responsibilities / Clinical Duties Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care for laboring and high-risk obstetrical patients in a fast-paced Labor & Delivery unit Perform, interpret, document, and communicate fetal heart monitoring (FHM); respond quickly to non-reassuring tracings and changes in maternal/fetal status Support vaginal and operative deliveries, including circulating for C-sections and assisting the interdisciplinary team Conduct obstetrical triage assessments, prioritize care, and coordinate with physicians, midwives, and ancillary staff Serve as charge nurse and/or preceptor to support unit flow, staff development, and patient safety Float to like units (Mom/Baby, postpartum) within competency to meet unit needs Participate in required call coverage and maintain 45-minute on-site response capability Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to hospital policies, patient safety, and quality standards Why This Travel Nursing Opportunity Opportunity to apply high-risk OB and neonatal nursing skills in a supportive, high-performing L&D team Travel nursing job located in Clinton, MD — close to Washington, D.C., with easy access to cultural attractions and outdoor recreation Competitive estimated weekly pay for Labor & Delivery travel nurses Apply now to join our Labor & Delivery travel nursing team in Clinton, MD (20735).
