Job Details — Travel Nurse / L&D RN Location: Salina, KS (zip 67401) — Saline County, central Kansas Role: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) / Travel Nurse Job Type: Travel Nursing, Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks Start Date: April 6, 2026 End Date: July 6, 2026 Shift: Night shift, 3 x 12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00) Hours per Week: 36 Setting: Birth Center (L&D) with occasional float to Mom Baby unit Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required Patient Ratios: 2:1 (AWHONN standards) Orientation: 24 hours provided Job Requirements — Labor & Delivery RN Qualifications Minimum 1.5 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN (L&D RN) experience — clinical maternal-newborn and high-acuity delivery experience preferred Active Kansas RN license or Compact RN license (must be active at time of submission) Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate FHM, BLS, NRP Meditech EMR experience required — documentation experience in hospital EMR systems Travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers considered case-by-case COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered) Candidate must reside at least 100 miles from facility References required; prior employees of Salina Regional are not eligible Responsibilities — Labor & Delivery & Maternal-Newborn Care Provide comprehensive, evidence-based care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and postpartum as a travel nurse and L&D RN Assist with high-risk deliveries, Cesarean sections, forceps/vacuum-assisted deliveries, and immediate neonatal care Perform and interpret fetal monitoring (internal and external), NSTs, OCTs, and reflex assessments in accordance with AWHONN guidelines Administer medications, manage IVs, and transfuse blood products when indicated Support breastfeeding and lactation, conduct newborn assessments, and provide discharge teaching to families Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams Maintain accurate, timely documentation using Meditech EMR consistent with best practices for nursing documentation Float to the Mom Baby unit as needed and support unit staffing needs during the travel nursing assignment Apply now: If you're a dedicated Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) seeking travel nursing opportunities or Kansas nursing jobs, submit your resume and references today.
