Job Details Location: Durham, NC 27704 (Durham healthcare jobs, North Carolina nursing jobs) Position: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse / L&D RN / OB RN – Travel Nurse Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 21, 2026 – July 21, 2026) Shift: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (07:00 – 19:30) Hours per Week: 36 Weekend Requirement: Every 5th weekend Floating: Required to Postpartum unit Orientation: Bi-weekly, 36 hours Scrubs: Royal Blue Flu Vaccine: Required (no exemptions) Estimated Weekly Salary: $2020 - $2130 per week Job Requirements / Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience (L&D RN, OB RN, maternity nurse) Active NC RN license or Compact RN license in hand (North Carolina nursing license) Current BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM, and NRP certifications EPIC charting experience required (electronic medical record proficiency) First-time travel nurses welcome with 2 years of experience Local candidates accepted within 75 miles One supervisory reference from the last year required Flu vaccine required (no exemptions) Responsibilities Provide comprehensive perinatal and obstetric nursing care for patients from 20 weeks gestation through 6 weeks postpartum Manage low- and high-risk pregnancies, including gestational diabetes (GDM), fetal growth restriction (FGR), pre-eclampsia, IVF pregnancies, and other obstetric complications Assist with high-risk deliveries, operative vaginal deliveries, and C-sections; support maternal stabilization and transfer as needed Perform newborn assessments, APGAR scoring, and neonatal resuscitation (NRP) when required Provide patient and family education: newborn care, breastfeeding support, discharge teaching, and postpartum education Use advanced clinical equipment including bedside ultrasound, Doppler, CADD and Alaris infusion pumps Float to Postpartum unit as needed and collaborate across units to ensure continuity of care Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including OB/GYN providers, anesthesia, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, lactation consultants, and social work About the Role & Location This Labor & Delivery travel nursing position offers the chance to work in a close-knit, high-tech maternity environment serving a diverse community.
