Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Interventional Radiology Discipline: RN Start Date: 03/30/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Travel RN – Interventional Radiology We are seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse for a travel assignment supporting a fast-paced outpatient procedural setting. This role involves providing nursing care to patients undergoing minimally invasive image-guided procedures while ensuring safe, efficient care before, during, and after each case. The Interventional Radiology nurse will work closely with the procedural team, monitor patients throughout treatment, and assist in a variety of IR procedures. Candidates should be comfortable in a high-acuity outpatient setting and able to adapt to changing daily workflow needs. Job Overview Specialty: Interventional Radiology (IR) Schedule: 5x8 hour day shifts Shift Time: Varied day shifts with start times as early as 6:30 AM Contract Length: 13 weeks Start Date: ASAP Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week, excluding orientation week and certain holiday closures Charting System: Epic preferred Scrubs: Any color Responsibilities Provide nursing care for patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures Assist with patient preparation, intra-procedural monitoring, and recovery Collaborate with radiology technologists and providers during procedures Monitor patient condition and respond appropriately in a fast-paced procedural environment Maintain accurate and timely documentation Support safe, efficient workflow across the department Float to other nearby locations within the system if needed Requirements Active RN license BLS certification ACLS certification Minimum 4 years of nursing experience Associate degree or certificate required BSN preferred Fast-paced outpatient procedural experience required Strong ability to work independently in a 1:1 patient care setting Additional Details Average of 4–6 cases per day 1:1 patient ratio Team structure typically includes 1 RN and 2 Radiology Techs Variety of Interventional Radiology procedures performed Travelers must live outside a 50-mile radius to qualify Weekend rotation approximately every 5th to 6th weekend Holiday rotation required Weeknight call may be required, typically 1–2 nights per week 30-minute call response time required Travelers may be placed on call during low census situations Orientation week does not include guaranteed hours During flu season, travelers declining flu or COVID vaccination must wear a mask at all times About IDR Healthcare IDR Healthcare is an awarding winning staffing firm that believes it is a privilege and awesome responsibility to serve those who selflessly care for others.
