Brief Unit Description: Wound nurses respond to consults and manage the wound census throughout the hospital. Years of Experience Required: 2 years of direct wound care experience. Skill Sets Required: Wound staging, vac dressing change, completion of wound consults and the management of new ostomies. Education Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher. Clinician to Patient Ratio: Two to Three Wound RNs on per day Monday through Friday. Patient Population: Significant wounds. Census: 400-bed Community Hospital.
