Job Details Location: Salem, MA 01970 – Salem healthcare job near Boston; great access to Boston-area attractions and commuting options Assignment Type: Travel Nurse (Travel Assignment) Start Date: April 19, 2026 End Date: July 18, 2026 Duration: 13 weeks Hours: 40 hours per week, 8-hour day shifts Shift: 7:15 AM – 3:45 PM, with one rotating day of 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM; department open weekdays with on-call for evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays Unit: Endoscopy / GI (GI/ENDO RN) – 7 procedure rooms, 18 PACU bays, 60–70 procedures daily EMR: EPIC (Epic experience preferred) Perks: Free on-site parking, supportive multidisciplinary team, modern endoscopy suite Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,370–$2,500 per week Job Requirements / Qualifications Active Massachusetts RN license (compact license not accepted unless valid in MA) Current AHA ACLS certification required SGNA (Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates) or CBSPD certification strongly preferred Minimum 2–3 years recent Endoscopy RN / GI Nurse experience in a high-volume endoscopy unit Proficiency with GI endoscopy procedures, Olympus scope set-up, handling, and reprocessing Experience with conscious sedation, MAC cases, and PACU recovery monitoring Comfortable with rotating shifts and participating in on-call coverage Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation skills (EPIC charting) Primary Responsibilities Provide direct patient care during endoscopic procedures (diagnostic and therapeutic), including conscious sedation and MAC cases Set up, handle, and reprocess Olympus endoscopy equipment following infection control and CBSPD guidelines Monitor and recover patients in PACU with appropriate clinician-to-patient ratios (1:1 in procedure rooms; 1:2–3 in PACU) Document patient care, procedure notes, and recovery status using EPIC EMR Collaborate with gastroenterologists, anesthesia, surgical services, and perioperative teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient care Participate in on-call rotation for evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the unit Why Apply This travel nurse opportunity is ideal for experienced endoscopy nurses seeking a short-term assignment in a historic New England community.
