Opportunity: RN - ER Job Details: • Work in Adult Emergency Room at Level 1 trauma and teaching facility • Care for 60-80 daily census with approximately 1000 visits per day in 64-room emergency department • Provide care for patients of all backgrounds including trauma, burn, medicine, surgical, and psychiatric cases • Work every third weekend with one pre-approved time off request allowed • Complete 36 hours of orientation including required modules on VCU Learning Exchange • Float within scope when needed • Maintain natural nail policy compliance • 3 years of emergency room experience required • Travel experience required • BSN preferred • Epic charting experience required • Level 1 trauma center experience required • Required certifications: CPI, TNCC, ACLS, BLS • Skills required: stroke certification, continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation, burns care, psychiatric holds, triage, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, arterial line management, IV management, continuous IV paralytics, vasopressors, BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, pulmonary artery lines • Care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients • Work in fast-paced environment with rapid patient turnover requiring critical thinking and complex care skills • Virginia or compact state license required at time of submittal • Fingerprinting required with 15-20 business day processing time • Two professional references required Facility: This major medical center operates a Level 1 trauma center providing emergency care for more than 80,000 patients annually.
